Earlier this month the Alert-it team headed to Birmingham for the annual Naidex Exhibition. The three day event is said to be the largest disability, rehabilitation and homecare event of its kind in the country.
Not only was the event a great success as a whole but the team managed to speak to hundreds of individuals and offer sound advice with regards to monitors and alarms for varying situations whether you have epilepsy, dementia or are at risk of falls for example.
What is Naidex?
If you haven?t heard of Naidex before then let us explain.
The event, which is held across 3 days in Birmingham?s NEC arena, is an opportunity for healthcare professionals, retailers, buyers and indeed members of the public to share their knowledge and seek advice.
This year there was more than 300 exhibitors including ourselves ready to provide advice, information and more than twenty years of experience to individuals, carers and family members. What better way to meet the experts, get independent advice and discover the latest industry products than under one roof?
Other than a host of exhibitors the event included a number of main features such as the College of Occupational Therapists (COT) Zone who offered a daily surgery to answer any professional queries; and Naidex Connects which allows you to approach pre-registered trade attendees, suppliers, buyers, healthcare professionals and industry experts. There were also a number of seminars throughout the event including a Community Equipment Professionals? Forum, Product Forum and Handicare Seminars.
Success for Alert-it
As mentioned previously the event was a great success and our stand seemed to have a constant flow of people chatting to the team. Exactly what we wanted to see.
We were even fortunate to be accompanied by Delphine from Epilepsy Research UK, a national charity dedicated to funding independent research into the causes, treatments and prevention of epilepsy. Take a look at the kind words Delphine had to say:
?Naidex was a very positive experience for me and there was a constant stream of people at the Alert-it stand making enquiries. It was great to have the opportunity to speak to some of these people and raise awareness about the work of Epilepsy Research UK. The Alert-it team was extremely welcoming and it was a pleasure to spend the day finding out more about the industry.
My sincere thanks to Alert-it for inviting me along. On a more general note, it was fantastic to look around all of the exhibits and see the incredible technology that is available to help people with disability and their carers?
Throughout the entirety of the event we also gave those who chatted to us the opportunity to enter our fantastic prize draw. Having signed up to our newsletter and requesting to join our Facebook forum each person was entered to win 6 bottles of delicious French wine.
Keep your eye out on our Facebook and Twitter updates as well as our next blog for the prize winner.
Epilepsy Monitor Brochure
Not only have we been busy attending events, but we have also created a new, more detailed brochure in regards to assistive technology and epilepsy monitors and alarms which we handed out during Naidex.
You?ll find a bit of background information about Alert-it and how we can help you; what exactly assistive technology is and why you should be using it; as well as a few success stories and testimonials from previous customers. For more specific knowledge in regards to some of Alert-it products you can find detailed information and key features on both the Companion and Guardian monitors in our latest brochure.
See You There Next Year
