Argenti before Alert-IT
Before Argenti made the move to Alert-IT, they were trying to find an epilepsy monitor that had a fail-safe radio call button link, was a class 1 medical device, and that could be relied upon when patients need support the most.
Originally, Argenti chose a different provider of epilepsy monitors because they felt pressured to choose care technology systems that were at a lower price point. But there was a gap between decision makers, and front-line staff. The systems in place weren’t working the best for Argenti’s patients.
Argenti felt the pressure to find a solution for their epilepsy patients that provided total peace of mind without carrying a price tag above their budget. Other care technology providers had monitors, but they did not match the quality of Alert-iT
That’s when last year, Argenti decided to revisit the way they supported epilepsy patients. A big part of this process was reconsidering the costs of the technology and working out if the existing monitors met the needs of its complex patients.

Time for change
After completing a review of support for epileptic patients, Argenti decided that they needed to work on three issues: their referral process, the cost of epilepsy monitors and finding a new supplier.

Referral process
Epilepsy was one of the big risks for Agenti. Healthcare professionals were rarely included in the decisions about which monitors would be most appropriate given the patient’s individual set of circumstances.
Then, Agenti made the decision that detailed information about the patient’s condition was needed before a decision was made about an epilepsy monitor. Where patients need more complex care, healthcare professionals would be involved in healthcare decisions.

Doing the maths
Over 90% of the epilepsy solutions installed at Agenti were more expensive than Alert-iT. When you considered the costs of the pagers and service visits, Alert-iT was better value–even with the top of the range monitor.
Agenti also learned that there were some battery leak issues, a lack of spare parts, and that most customers had to replace their systems with their previous supplier after a year. The Alert-iT Companion cost half of the cost of Agenti’s previous supplier.
The size of the old supplier’s standard kit box meant keeping the equipment either in the stores or on the Telecare Advisor’s van was also highlighted as an issue. The lack of space in the van regularly led to repeated visits to the stores and to the client when the van stock ran out.
By introducing both the Alert-iT Mini and Mini Connect, both machines were significantly cheaper than an industry rival’s pager solutions. The cost to local authorities will also be further reduced, allowing more patients to benefit from the system.

Innovation
The hidden cost of Agent’s previous epilepsy monitors, their lifespans and the availability of spare parts were all concerns. If the monitors couldn’t be recycled and there weren’t any spare parts available, costs would double.
That’s when Agenti decided to pursue a UK-based manufacturer – Alert iT. With their cost-efficient and environmentally-friendly recycling programme, Alert-iT monitors stay affordable for as many people as possible.
Alert-iT’s ability to train staff and efficient technical support over the phone to Agenti’s telecare advisors makes them the only supplier effectively covering every aspect of a modern TEC business-to-business relationship.
Agenti are innovators for the evolving needs of their customers. Alert-iT has proven over and over again that their specialist equipment and innovation can match the needs of Agenti patients. With Alert-iT’s fast and simple set up, and a range of monitors able to alert to potential seizures that are mobile for adults and children, patients can rely on Alert-iT to take care of them.
