1. Introduction
ITs Designs Ltd (TA: Alert-iT Care Alarms) (“Alert-iT”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is committed to operating in a way that protects the environment and minimises the impact of our activities, products and services. This policy sets out the principles we follow and the commitments we make.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all our operations in the United Kingdom, including design, manufacture, sales, service and administration, and to all employees, contractors and visitors at our premises.
3. Our commitments
Compliance
Comply with all applicable environmental legislation and regulation, including the WEEE, RoHS, REACH and Packaging Waste regulations, and seek to exceed these standards where practicable.
Pollution prevention
Identify and manage environmental risks, prevent pollution at source, and respond promptly to any incidents.
Energy and carbon
Use energy efficiently in our offices, workshop and IT systems, prefer low-carbon and renewable suppliers where viable, and reduce unnecessary travel through remote working and digital collaboration.
Waste and recycling
Apply the waste hierarchy of reduce, reuse and recycle. Recycle electronic components, packaging, paper and consumables wherever local facilities allow, and dispose of any hazardous waste through licensed contractors.
Product design
Design products to be reliable, repairable and energy efficient, with a long service life, and consider end-of-life recovery from the outset.
Supply chain
Work with suppliers who share our environmental values, prefer locally sourced components where practical, and review packaging and shipping choices to reduce waste and emissions.
4. Roles and responsibilities
Overall responsibility for this policy rests with the directors. All employees are expected to support its aims through their day-to-day actions and to report any concerns or improvement opportunities to their line manager.
5. Continual improvement
We set objectives to reduce our environmental impact, monitor our performance and review this policy at least annually to ensure it remains appropriate and effective.
